Small Things  2024

A hand painted ceramic tile mural. Coming soon to Rose Street, Sheerness-on-sea August 2024.

Small Things is a new public artwork celebrating a plethora of everyday nature oddities found on Sheerness beach. The work depicts a colourful array of beautifully painted details of shells, stones, fossils, and ceramic fragments e.g. pipes. This  ceramic tile mural was created as part of a long term research project exploring how the artist can put drawing into the public realm. The artwork acts as a community curiosity cabinet or contemporary Vanitas, encouraging the viewer to enjoy the present moment.

The artwork will be temporarily installed on Sheerness High Street, as part of Sheerness Seaside festival in August 2024.
