Abbi Torrance likes to work in pencil in an obsessive way, completing large scale works taking years in the making. Over time the work loses its initial concept and becomes an exercise in pattern, aesthetics and detail, the work needs to be completed to its full, no part of the page untouched. She  has been working on neo romantic landscapes compulsively scribbling producing demarcations of nature. These works as well as being an exercise in pencil use, are about time: taking excessive time to produce which is unusual in this schizophrenic culture of instant gratification; also having a timeless quality, landscape changes minutely over the ages, shifting land forms are researched and documented, Abbi is interested in these minute changes in nature, of something of a much grander scale than us.
